TradeCentric x Virto Commerce
B2B suppliers selling to enterprise buyers increasingly face a specific requirement: buyers want to access supplier catalogs and place orders from within their own procurement system, not through a separate storefront login. TradeCentric makes that possible by sitting between Virto’s commerce platform and the buyer’s eProcurement system as a managed cloud gateway. Virto Commerce has partnered with TradeCentric specifically for this integration.
About TradeCentric
TradeCentric (formerly known as PunchOut2Go) connects supplier ecommerce systems with buyer purchasing systems, simplifying complex integrations onto one scalable platform that is secure and audit-ready. Beyond PunchOut, TradeCentric also handles Purchase Order Automation, Invoice Automation, and eQuote, covering the full transaction flow from catalog browsing through invoicing.
How Virto Integrates with TradeCentric
Virto Commerce has partnered with TradeCentric to handle PunchOut integration. TradeCentric operates as a managed cloud gateway between Virto’s commerce platform and the buyer’s eProcurement system, so neither side needs to build or maintain a direct, custom connection to the other.
When a buyer initiates a PunchOut session from their procurement system, TradeCentric authenticates them into Virto’s storefront, where they browse the catalog with their negotiated pricing and approved product assortment. When they finish shopping, their cart transfers back through TradeCentric into the buyer’s procurement system for approval and purchase order creation. The completed purchase order then flows back to Virto for fulfillment.
The integration covers:
- PunchOut catalog access — buyers browse Virto’s storefront from within their procurement system
- Negotiated pricing and account-specific assortments displayed accurately during PunchOut sessions
- Cart transfer back to the buyer’s procurement system for approval workflows
- Purchase order receipt from the buyer’s system into Virto for order processing
- Optional Purchase Order Automation and Invoice Automation through TradeCentric’s platform
Note: A TradeCentric account is required for this integration alongside the Virto implementation. Speak with a solution partner for setup details.
Implementation Approach
Virto Commerce integrates with enterprise systems through a combination of APIs, middleware, and integration accelerators — designed to reduce implementation effort while preserving the flexibility that enterprise-specific workflows require.
Key considerations: which buyer procurement systems need to be supported, whether PunchOut only or a broader set of TradeCentric capabilities like PO Automation and Invoice Automation are required, existing TradeCentric account setup, and how negotiated pricing and account-specific assortments are managed in Virto.
Use Cases
Meeting enterprise buyer requirements for eProcurement integration
Large enterprise buyers often require suppliers to support PunchOut before they will add them to their approved vendor list. With Virto and TradeCentric, suppliers can meet that requirement without building a custom integration for each buyer’s procurement system.
Suppliers become eProcurement-ready for enterprise buyers without a separate integration project per buyer or per procurement platform.
Letting buyers order through their own procurement workflows
B2B buyers who purchase through approval-driven procurement systems need the order to originate inside their system, not through a standalone checkout. TradeCentric routes the cart from Virto’s storefront back into the buyer’s system for approval before a purchase order is created.
Buyers complete orders within their own procurement workflows, and suppliers receive clean, approved purchase orders rather than managing approval processes manually.
Automating purchase orders and invoicing alongside PunchOut
Organizations that want to go beyond catalog browsing and automate the full transaction flow — purchase order receipt and invoice exchange — can use TradeCentric’s PO Automation and Invoice Automation alongside the PunchOut connection.
The full procurement cycle, from catalog access to invoice, is automated between Virto and the buyer’s system, reducing manual processing on both sides.
