Order Network eXchange (onX) Integration

Connect to any onX-compatible OMS, 3PL, or AI agent—standardized order operations without custom integrations.

Virto Commerce is first to go live with Commerce Operations Foundation’s (COF) Order Network eXchange (onX) Adapter—the open standard connecting commerce platforms to OMS, 3PLs, and AI agents via standardized order operations.

The onX Adapter implements the Commerce Order Framework's open spec for order, inventory, and fulfillment events—eliminating custom integrations across the ecosystem.

One adapter unlocks unlimited connections: Commerce platform, OMS/WMS/3PL systems, and AI agents all speak the same protocol.

How onX Integration Works in Virto Commerce

Fragmented order flows overcomplicate B2B operations: custom code per partner, unreliable AI order placement, vendor silos blocking composability.

Virto's onX Adapter bridges COF's open standard with Virto APIs:

  • MCP Protocol: AI agents call tools for product search, pricing, cart creation, order placement
  • Event-Driven: Real-time inventory/status updates across the ecosystem
  • Vendor-Neutral: Any onX-compatible system works—no Virto-specific coding

Flow: AI Agent → MCP → onX Server → Virto Adapter → xOrder/xCatalog

What onX Integration Delivers for Your Business

  • Faster partner onboarding: Standard protocol means days not months per integration.
  • AI-ready operations: Conversational agents place real orders with live inventory.
  • Ecosystem scale: One adapter serves unlimited OMS/3PL/AI, no silos.
  • Future-proof stack: Open COF standard evolves independently of Virto core.
  • Lower TCO: Eliminate custom connector maintenance across channels.

OnX Use Case Examples

  • AI-Assisted Sales Ordering: Sales reps say "Create order for customer ABC, 50 units product X". AI handles lookup, pricing, cart, submission.
  • Procurement Automation: Agents auto-check inventory and generate POs when stock hits threshold.
  • Customer Service Copilot: "Check order #456, update shipping" request gets instant retrieval and update.
  • Commerce Operations: "Show low-stock products in German warehouse" requests gets real-time operational insights.
