Multi-Account and Company Structure

Support complex B2B organizations with layered multi-account and company structure controls.

Manage users and security with role-based access, clear hierarchies, and granular permissions—across as many accounts and organizations as your business runs.

Launch and operate multiple stores and brands (each with its own catalogs, user bases, and settings) under a single company structure. Allow admins and support teams to log in on behalf of other users to provide direct assistance and resolve issues quickly, enhancing customer satisfaction.

A single contact can now belong to multiple organizations at once, with an independent role in each—a buying group, its subsidiaries, or a dealer network, all under one login. Admins can change a person's role in one organization without touching the others, and lock access to just one, including time-boxed locks that lift on their own.

See Permissions Management for how those roles combine company-wide defaults with individual overrides.

Managing Organization Membership

  • Invite, resend, or cancel: A company administrator can invite an existing customer into their organization, and resend or cancel an invitation that’s still outstanding.
  • Approve, reject, or lock membership: The administrator can approve, reject, or lock a person’s membership in that organization.
  • Scoped to one organization only: Each action applies to that organization alone. A person who buys on behalf of three companies keeps their other two memberships untouched.
  • Pending invitations, visible to the buyer: On the buyer’s side, people see pending invitations in their own account and accept or reject them, and the organization switcher only lists organizations where their membership is active.

See Self-Management for how buyers handle their own account and invitations, and Delegated Purchasing and Role-Based Ordering Rights for how organization roles control what a person can buy.

What the Multi-Account and Company Structure Feature Delivers for Your Business

  • Operational efficiency: Centralized management of multiple accounts, stores, user groups, and permissions cuts administrative overhead and speeds up onboarding—even across layered, multi-entity business structures.
  • Future-proofed B2B scenarios: Layered hierarchies, multiple user roles, and multiple accounts under one organization scale with the business, so growth adds accounts and roles, not bottlenecks.

  • Improved user experience: Clearly defined permissions mean each user sees only what's relevant to their role: less confusion, fewer support tickets, and faster onboarding.

  • One identity, many organizations: Fewer duplicate accounts and manual workarounds, with self-serve, per-organization administration and auditable, time-boxed access changes for regulated or multi-entity buyers.
